At fourteen, co-founder Melanie Wolf had already reached her statuesque 5′11″, and with it came the quiet realization that most fashion brands were not designed to celebrate a taller silhouette.
In ready-to-wear, maxi lengths are drafted for the classic 5′7″–5′8″ frame: a proportion that serves the majority of women beautifully, while the petite client can simply lift with a heel or have the hem shortened.
For the taller woman, however, that same silhouette often stops inches shy of the ankle, interrupting the intended sweep and elegance of the design.
